You Can't Hurry Love

- Phil Collins -

I need love, love
Oh, ease my mind
And I need to find time
Someone to call mine

My mama said, "You can't hurry love
No, you'll just have to wait"
She said, "Love don't come easy
But it's a game of give and take"

You can't hurry love
No, you'll just have to wait
Just trust in a good time
No matter how long it takes

How many heartaches must I stand
Before I find the love to let me live again
Right now the only thing that keeps me hanging on
When I feel my strength, oh, it's almost gone

I remember mama said, "You can't hurry love
No, you'll just have to wait"
She said, "Love don't come easy
It's a game of give and take"

How long must I wait
How much more must I take
Before loneliness
Will cause my heart, heart to break

No, I can't bear to live my life alone
I grow impatient for a love to call my own
But when I feel that I, I can't go on
Well, these precious words keep me hanging on

I remember mama said, "You can't hurry love
No, you'll just have to wait"
She said, "Love don't come easy
Well, it's a game of give and take"

You can't hurry love
No, you'll just have to wait
Just trust in a good time
No matter how long it takes, now break

Now love, love don't come easy
But I keep on waiting
Anticipating for that soft voice
To talk to me at night
For some tender arms
Hold me tight
I keep waiting
Oh, till that day
But it ain't easy
(Love don't come easy)
No, you know it ain't easy

My mama said, "You can't hurry love
No, you'll just have to wait"
She said, "Love don't come easy
But it's a game of give and take"

You can't hurry love
No, you'll just have to wait
She said, "Love don't come easy
It's a game of give and take"

"The Voice of Knowledge" & "The Mastery of Love"

My comment:
I discovered this author on a day when I really needed something to hold on to. I was all alone in a foreign country, longing home for my family and friends, knowing that it was many months before I could return home. I ended up in a book store, which from then on meant a lot to me, and "The Voice of Knowledge" captured my attention. I fell in love with the book at once and had to buy it. It is an amazing story about Ruiz's life journey and how he received the Toltec Wisdom, spiced up with nice anecdotes. While and after reading it, I felt completely at peace and I was so happy. I felt like I was flying and had no worries at all, I was filled with a joy that's difficult to describe. I wish that everyone would read this book and understand its meaning. It might be difficult to grasp it all, but it is worth a try. Besides, after each chapter the main points are repeated. The book is written in a straight forward way, with nice metaphors to make it easier to understand. If you get hold of the great wisdom in the story, you get a key to inner peace and happiness!

After finishing "The Voice of Knowledge", I had to return to the book store for Ruiz's other books. "The Mastery of Love" is also a beautiful book, packed with wisdom about love. I just love the methaphors that Ruiz uses, they make it so easy to understand. The can seem simple, but are brilliant. We are all in need of love, without it life seems meaningless and babies die without it. "The Mastery of Love" gives us a nice recipe to how one can get endless of love, throughout your whole life! Give it a try and hopefully you will find the key to the spring of love.

Get inspired and be at peace!

"The Celestine Prophecy"

My comment:
Since I was a little girl I've had an urge for more knowledge and wisdom. The Celestine Prophecy is a great source for exactly that and it opened my mind to a new world. I think that every open minded person would find this book very interesting. The story brings you to a whole new level of understanding life itself. When you've started to read it is almost impossible to put the book down. You follow the journey of a young man, who's drawn into a thrilling quest of finding the truth about The Celestine Prophecy. During the journey he discovers new sides of himself and life. The story is filled with action and you won't get bored. I believe that we all can learn some essential life wisdom by reading this book. Read it and get inspired!

Inspiring Movies

Here is a list of movies, which means a lot to me.
The movies give me inspiration, motivation and strength.
I can watch them over and over again, due to all the love and wisdom they grasp.
Hopefully these movies can inspire you as well!

Gandhi

My comment:
In a period I watched this movie several times a day!!! I learn so much from Gandhi's wisdom and get reminded about some of the most important things in life. Mahatma Gandhi is my supreme idol and I try my best to live by his example. Everybody should watch this movie! Hopefully it will open our eyes and help us make the world a better place to live, - for everyone!
Make love and not war!

Eat, Pray, Love

My comment:
Oooo! This is one of my favourite movies!! For many reasons, one being that it contains lots of life wisdom about love. Another being that you get to "travel"; to Rome, India and Bali... I've used this movie as "therapy"!! After "loosing myself" in a couple of relationship, I had to "find back" to whom I really am. The woman, Liz Gilbert, in this movie had some similar experiences. Soooo, I got some great advices by watching Liz chasing her own happiness... Enjoy the travel!

Jesus Christ Superstar

My comment:
There are so many things to be said about this movie… First of all, it is a musical, with the most amazing music. I can put on this movie at any time of the day/night, when I am in any kind of mood and the music will “lift my soul”. Secondly, many people feel that the movie is blasphemy, but I disagree. Jesus Christ Superstar brings up new sides of “the story” and look at it from a cool angle. The main story is Jesus Christ’s life, in a hippie style kind of a way, the movie is packed with wisdom about how to live a life in peace and love. There are sides of the movie that might be provoking for some, but please have an open mind and let the music and wisdom inspire you, - to see the world with new eyes! Enjoy it!

The Balance

- The Moody Blues -

After he had journeyed,
And his feet were sore,
And he was tired,
He came upon an orange grove
And he rested
And he lay in the cool,
And while he rested, he took to himself an orange and tasted it,
And it was good.
And he felt the earth to his spine,
And he asked, and he saw the tree above him, and the stars,
And the veins in the leaf,
And the light, and the balance.
And he saw magnificent perfection,
Whereon he thought of himself in balance,
And he knew he was.

Alex Grey's Wonder

Just open your eyes,
And realize, the way it's always been.
Just open your mind
And you will find
The way it's always been.
Just open your heart
And that's a start.
And he thought of those he angered,
For he was not a violent man,
And he thought of those he hurt
For he was not a cruel man
And he thought of those he frightened
For he was not an evil man,
And he understood.
He understood himself.

Upon this he saw that when he was of anger or knew hurt or felt fear,
It was because he was not understanding,
And he learned, compassion.

And with his eye of compassion.
He saw his enemies like unto himself,
And he learned love.
Then, he was answered.

Just open your eyes,
And realize, the way it's always been.
Just open your mind
And you will find
The way it's always been.
Just open your heart
And that's a start.

My comment:
This is my favorite song! It balances me in an amazing way… If I am sad, upset or worried, I just listen to this song and I feel balanced. Hopefully you too will get some kind of “higher” understanding of life, while listening to it. Enjoy!

Queen - It's a Hard Life

- Queen -

I don't want my freedom
There's no reason for living with a broken heart
This is a tricky situation
I've only got myself to blame
It's just a simple fact of life
It can happen to anyone

You win - you lose
It's a chance you have to take with love
Oh yeah - I fell in love
And now you say it's over and I'm falling apart

It's a hard life
To be true lovers together
To love and live forever in each others hearts
It's a long hard fight
To learn to care for each other
To trust in one another right from the start
When you're in love

I try and mend the broken pieces
I try to fight back the tears
They say it's just a state of mind
But it happens to everyone

How it hurts - deep inside
When your love has cut you down to size
Life is tough - on your own
Now I'm waiting for something to fall from the skies
And I am waiting for love

Yes it's a hard life
Two lovers together
To love and live forever in each other's hearts
It's a long hard fight
To learn to care for each other
To trust in one another - right from the start
When you're in love

Yes it's a hard life
In a world that's filled with sorrow
There are peolpe searching for love in every way
It's a long hard fight
But I'll always live for tomorrow
I'll look back on myself and say I did it for love
Yes I did it for love - for love - oh I did it for love

My comment:

This song helped me a lot, after a break up. It made me feel less "stupid" and bad, because as Freddie sings - "I did it for love"... Meaning that whatever happened and how much it hurts afterwards, - it was worth it!

Wise words...

Charlie Chaplin's Speech

My comment:

These wise words are said many decades ago, but are as important today as then. Please listen to the message and wisdom, with an open heart and mind! Get inspired to live a life in peace and love. If we all start with our own life, we will unite and make the world a better place to live, - for everyone! Someone said once “No one can help everyone, but everyone can help somebody”. It is simple, start with yourself and focus on the positive!

Love Quotes

Love...

"Perhaps the feelings that we experience when we are in love represent a normal state. Being in love shows a person who he should be."

- Anton Chekhov -

My comment:
I like this quote, because it made sense to me. When I am in love I feel very much alive and extremely happy. I feel like I can do anything! I truly believe that we can do anything we want to, if we put our mind and spirit on to it. Love makes it easier! So perhaps Chekhow is right…

Duck love...

"Never pretend to love which you do not actually feel, for love is not ours to command."

- Allan Watts -

My comment:
Have you ever stayed in a relationship longer than you should, because you were afraid of hurting the other part? Sometimes we pretend to love someone that we don't, because we are so afraid of hurting him/her. Or because we are afraid of being alone. Love is strange and can't be controlled. If we stop loving someone it's out of our control, I think. If we stay in a relationship due to fear, for being alone or hurt someone, we end up hurting more. That is what I've observed at least. You end up hurting not only the other part, but yourself as well. Love comes freely and uncontrolled. Pretending is living a lie... If you discover that the love has "run out", be brave enough to admit it and let go. We are many billion people on this planet, there are many to love out there... So why pretend? Go for the real thing!

Confidence

"Often we don't even realize who we're meant to be because we're so busy trying to live out someone else's ideas. But other people and their opinions hold no power in defining our destiny."

- Oprah Winfrey -

Who am I?

"There are admirable potentialities in every human being. Believe in your strength and your youth. Learn to repeat endless to yourself. 'It all depends on me.'"

- Andre Gide -

"I was always looking outside myself for strength and confidence, but it comes from within. It is there all the time."

- Anna Freud -

"Attempt easy tasks as if they were difficult, and difficult as if they were easy; in the one case that confidence may not fall asleep, in the other that it may not be dismayed."

- Baltasar Gracian -
